Projects Abroad currently works in over 30 destinations throughout Asia, Africa, Eastern Europe, Latin America & the Caribbean, and the South Pacific.
Founded over 24 years ago, we have vast experience in arranging Teaching, Building, Community, Conservation, Archaeology, Sports and Care projects as well as work experience internships in fields as diverse as Business, Law, Journalism, Medicine and Animal Care.
Our aim is to work with people in developing countries to ensure that our projects have a positive impact within their communities. In all of our destinations we have offices with fully trained Projects Abroad staff, so we can provide volunteers with 24 hour back up and support.
We take a flexible approach to volunteering and our projects have no set start dates. Placements are available all year round and volunteers can decide when to travel and for how long. Our minimum duration for projects is two weeks, and we also offer exclusive 'Short-term Special’ projects, which are specifically for 16-19 year olds.
The cost of your placement includes your food, accommodation, insurance, back up and support, airport transfers and travel to and from work where required. Projects Abroad is a member of ‘The Year Out Group’ and currently sends around 10,000 volunteers overseas each year. While many of our volunteers are ‘Gap Year’ students, we have an increasing number of mature and Career Break volunteers, who are attracted to our wide range of placements.
Whether you’d like to experience life as a Nomad in Mongolia, help develop a rural community farm in Ghana, work on a conservation project in the Peruvian Amazon or discover more about Ancient Khmer Civilisations in Cambodia, Projects Abroad can help.
